JACKSONVILLE — Graveside services for Marvin Tutt, age 91, of Jacksonville, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Fri., March 1,  at Larissa Cemetery in Mt. Selman, with the Rev. Dr. Donald L. Britton and Jerry Paul Tutt officiating.

Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.

Mr. Tutt passed away Tues., Feb. 26, at Hospice of East Texas.

He was born May 28, 1921 in Mt. Selman to Cyrus Marvin (Charlie) Tutt, Sr. and Fannie Roark Tutt.

He accepted Jesus as his Savior at the age of 15 and became an avid student of the Bible, a prayer warrior and a soul winner. He graduated from Bullard High School. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U. S. Army in the field of radar. He married the former Allison (Alice) Pryor on Sept.17, 1944. In the late 1940’s, he was the owner of Jacksonville Radio Shop. He later worked in the television repair shops for KE Maness Furniture Company and J. D. Bearden Furniture Company and was the owner/operator of Marvin’s TV and Antenna Service in Jacksonville. He invented equipment which aided in the installation of tower television antennas.

He was a long time member of Travis Street Baptist Church in Jacksonville and was a member of University Baptist Church of Tyler.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 67 years, Alice Tutt, 3 brothers, A. C. Tutt, Kenneth Tutt and Wilkie Tutt, 2 sisters, Jackie Kamson and Fern Pritchard, and a great-grandson, John E. Gonzales.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Glenn Thompson of Tyler; a son and daughter-in-law Jerry and Rebecca Tutt of Irving; 8 grandchildren, Candiss (Russell) Smith, Robin (John) Gonzales, Paula Tutt, Jerry P. (Mandy) Tutt, Stephen Tutt, Glenn (Vanessa) Thompson Jr., B. J. (Chassidy) Thompson and Tamra (Charles) Maines; 13 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. Thurs., Feb. 28at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
