Cynthia Tarrant

BULLARD — Memorial services for Cynthia Tarrant will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 7:00 pm at Central Baptist Church in Jacksonville.  Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until service time.

Cynthia Elizabeth Blackwell Tarrant was born in Mt. Pleasant Texas on March 8, 1958 and went to heaven on July 11, 2012.  She was the fourth daughter born to Ralph (Bud) and Helen Blackwell.  Her older sisters are Cecelia Tietz of Tyler (deceased), Vickie Denman, and Angela Brownlee of Mt. Pleasant.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Jim Tarrant, Jr.; her three sons, James Matthew, Robert Benjamin and wife Patricia, and Andrew William.  She has one grandson, John Benjamin.

Cindy was a wonderful person in every sense of the word.  She personified the description of the virtuous wife in Proverbs 31.  You never saw her that she wasn’t smiling, laughing, or encouraging others.

Even in her final days, she was still encouraging and praying for others.  Although she was good at everything she did, she always felt her greatest accomplishment was seeing her three sons develop into men of Godly character and knowing that their salvation through Jesus Christ would secure them a home in heaven where they would be reunited again as a family.

She was quick witted, independent, confident, a great cook and enjoyed entertaining.  You had to get up pretty early to get one by her and you never had to question where she stood.  She was the anchor leg on the 440 relay and a cheerleader.  She would later use the speed and strong lungs needed to raise three boys.

She loved to go on cruises and entertain friends and family.  Cindy worked as a dental assistant, balancing work and the needs of her family until ultimately electing to devote the majority of her time to her family.  She wore many hats as wife, mother, confidant, mentor, business partner and dealt with issues big and small with grace and good humor.  She gave generously of her time, talent, and treasure to support any cause she felt glorified the Lord.

She felt that the cancer that ultimately took her life was much like the story of the blind man in John Chapter 9 which tells us that some things in life just can’t be explained but ultimately happen to bring glory to God in hopes of leading one more person to Christ.  She often talked about there is hope for everyone until the moment of death using the thief on the cross as an example in Luke 23:39.

Right now she is rearranging furniture in her mansion, preparing a big feast and planning a party for her family and friends.  Over the door is hung a sign that says “They lived happily ever after.”
