Graveside services for Jack Lee Grantham were held Mon., Oct. 22, 2012 at Corine Cemetary next to Corine Baptist Church at 10 a.m. officiated by Rev. Larry Smith. Jack passed away Sat., Oct. 20, 2012 in Tyler at the age of 64 after a long illness. Visitation was held for Jack on Sun. Oct. 21, at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville from 6 – 8 p.m.
Jack is preceded in death by his father, Leonard Grantham and brothers, Larry Grantham and Albert Wayne Grantham.
Jack is survived by his wife, Bea of 29 years, his mother Mildred Grantham, brothers, Kenneth Grantham and Tex Dee Grantham, both of Jacksonville, children, Laura Kay Farnham and Husband, Tommy, of Kilgore, daughter Keri Summers, and son Jim Reel both of Mooresville, N. Carolina, six grandchildren and one great grandchild, several uncles, aunts, cousins and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Jack was a Baptist born April 9, 1948 in Jacksonville. He was a heavy machine operator and in his later years a tile setter. Jack served in the Army for three years, one of which was in Vietnam becoming a Re-Con Sargent, earning a Purple Heart. He was a member of the VFW, DAV, Vietnam Veterans of America and American Legion.
Pall Bearers were, Clifford Moseley, Mark Halsey, Tommy Hale, Ernest Starling,Sr.,Billy Barfield, Jr. and Jerry Brooks.
