JACKSONVILLE —
Funeral services for Dovie Hazel Baumgardner Morton, age 98, of Jacksonville, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tues., Feb.5, at Autry Funeral Home chapel, Jacksonville, with Frank Morton officiating.
Burial will be held at Jarratt Cemetery, Jacksonville.
Mrs. Morton passed away Sat., Feb. 2, in Palestine.
She was born July 20, 1914 in Jacksonville.
Mrs. Morton was a member of Craft Baptist Church, Jacksonville and worked as secretary for Forrest Motors, Tommy Sullivan Ford, and Bill McRae Ford in Jacksonville for a total of 28 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband Parlon Morton Jr. (1986), grandson Earl Kent Morton, brothers Earl, Roy, and Ralph Baumgardner, and sister Julie Marie Moody.
Survivors include her sons Parlon H. Morton III and wife Pat of Lake Jackson, John Frank Morton and wife Bertie of Neches, Thomas Hayden “Tommy” Morton and wife Jackie of Jacksonville, and Olen H. Morton and wife V.J. of Jacksonville; brother Thomas “Tinker” Baumgardner and wife Polly of Ft. Worth; nineteen grandchildren, thirty-nine great grandchildren, nineteen great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Parlon Morton IV, Scott Morton, Tommy Morton Jr., Keith Morton, John Morton, Mark Jennings, and Randy Holman.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Mon., Feb. 4, at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
