Robert “Glyn” Smith

JACKSONVILLE — Funeral services for Robert “Glyn” Smith, age 82, of Jacksonville, are scheduled for 11:00 am Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at the Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with Philip Strong officiating.

Interment will follow at Taylor Cemetery, Gallatin.

Glyn Smith passed away Sunday April 15, 2012 in Jacksonville.

He was born August 1, 1929 in Jacksonville, TX   to Robert Burnett and Eunice Sanford Smith.

Mr. Smith served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked many years as a self employed timber buyer, but during the last years of his employment he worked at Say Plastics. He was a faithful member of the Southside Church of Christ in Jacksonville.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Wanda Smith of Jacksonville, son Brent Smith of Flint, brother Billy Max Smith and wife Joyce of Jacksonville, sisters Eula Jean McNeil of Phoenix, AZ, Faye Hooker and Winifred Musick both of Jacksonville,  granddaughter Lauryn Smith of Tyler, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be the Elders and Deacons of Southside Church of Christ.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Dairy Queen Coffee Drinkers.

Visitation will be Tuesday April 17, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
