JACKSONVILLE —
Graveside services Joy Louise Gowin, age 85, of Jacksonville, are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Friday, June 8, 2012 at Jarratt Cemetery, Jacksonville with Rev. Lester Foreman officiating.
Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
Mrs. Gowin passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2012 in Jacksonville.
She was born June 16, 1926 in Dialville, TX.
Mrs. Gowin was a member of Craft Baptist Church, DAV Auxiliary, and was a psychiatric nurse tech at Rusk State Hospital.
She is preceded in death by her husband Oma Travis Gowin, parents William F. Sides and Sara Griffin Sides, and sisters Fay Harris and Ann Dennis.
Survivors include her son Eddie T. Gowin and wife Sandy of Jacksonville; daughters Joyce Arlene Wimberley and husband Carl of Longview, Oma Jean Hutto and husband Ronnie of Mesquite, and Judy Carolyn Brown of Jacksonville; brother L. E. Sides of Jacksonville; ten grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.
Visitation will be from 9:00 – 11:00 am, Friday, June 8, 2012 at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
A special thanks is extended to Hospice of East Texas, and in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, Texas 75701.
