FRANKSTON —
Funeral services for James Wade McKinney, age 75, of Frankston, are scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Hilltop Baptist Church in Berryville with Rev. George Folmar and Rev. Ron Ivey officiating.
Private burial will be at New Salem Cemetery near Lake Striker.
Mr. McKinney passed away Sunday, February 5, 2012 in Tyler.
He was born July 11, 1936 in Henderson.
Mr. McKinney was a U.S. postal carrier for 35 years, was ordained as a deacon at the age of 18, and was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents James Nimrod and Gladys Pauline McKinney; sons, Randy and Ken McKinney; grandson Erik McKinney; and brother Gus Ray McKinney.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years Myrna McKinney of Frankston; sons, Keith McKinney of Rowlett, Kevin McKinney and wife Kathy of Jacksonville, and Kim McKinney and wife Liz of New Salem; sisters, Jessie Barnes and Carol Sledge both of Henderson; five grandchildren, Victoria Nix, Lana McKinney, Bryan McKinney and wife Britian, Nathan McKinney and Jamie McKinney; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and brother-in-law Cecil Bunn and wife Rosemary of Alexandria, La.
Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Hilltop Baptist Church and grandsons.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
