Mr. Gerald Wayne Herring, age 69, of Grapeland, passed away Friday, June 8, 2012 at his residence. He was born February 16, 1943 in Ponta, Cherokee County, Texas. Mr. Herring had owned and operated the Grapeland Safari and was a member of the Ponta Baptist Church.
Survivors include wife, Nona Herring of Grapeland;
sons, Craig Herring of Dripping Springs, Tracey Herring and wife, Edith of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Laurel, Colt, Chelsea and Ashley;
great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Landon; mother, LaVerne Bobbitt of Rusk; sisters, JoAnn Herring of Rusk, Shalah Brown and husband, Rickey of New Summerfield; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Gerald Wayne Herring were held Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. in the Latexo Cemetery with Rev. Kenny Bush officiating. Condolences for Mr. Herring may be left at online obituaries www.callawayallee.com
