Charles Robert Anderson

JACKSONVILLE — Charles Robert Anderson, former resident of Jacksonville, passed away in Dallas on Dec. 19, 2011.  He was born in Jacksonville to Robert and Annie Crim Anderson on Oct. 11, 1925.  Married to Jessie Lou Baxter on Aug. 31, 1947, the couple had two daughters, and later moved to Arlington, Texas.

Charlie Bob grew up in Jacksonville, was a member of First Christian Church, attended Lon Morris College, and graduated from Stephen F. Austin University.  While in Jacksonville, he was employed by JC Penney's and worked as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service.  He later became a Postal Inspector for the Houston area.  After retirement he started his own income tax business.  Charlie Bob and Jessie Lou were active founding members of Crossroads Christian Church in Arlington.

Receiving an Honorable Discharge, he proudly served his country in the US Navy during World War II and the Korean War.  He was a active member of the Jacksonville Civitan Club. An avid golfer, Charlie Bob held a coveted six registered "hole in ones".  He was also a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying his family and friends in his Cessna.

Charlie Bob is survived by Jessie Lou, his wife of 64 years, his two daughters, Penny Precopia and Victoria Fitzgerald, son in laws David Precopia and Robert Fitzgerald, five grandchildren; David Precopia, Kimberly McGreger, Kari Precopia, Michael Fitzgerald, and Devin Fitzgerald; seven great-grandchildren; CJ, Chase, Connor, Aidan, Kaitlin, Asher, and Henry.  He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Raymond, Harold, and Walter (Corkey) Anderson.

Known to his wife as "Chuggie", his daughters as "Daddy", his grandchildren as "Papa", and his great grandchildren as "Great Papa", he will be truly missed.

Family graveside service will be held at the Old Jacksonville Cemetery.
