JACKSONVILLE —
Funeral services for Sue Silk, age 87, of Jacksonville, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sat., Nov.3, at First United Methodist Church, Jacksonville with Rev. Joel McMahon officiating.
Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
Mrs. Silk passed away Mon., Oct. 29, 2012 in Tyler.
She was born Nov. 6, 1924 in Jacksonville.
Mrs. Silk was a member of First United Methodist Church, Jacksonville, where she was a member of the choir, honorary member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and was a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her husband C. O. Silk, parents Jesse H. and Lois Holcomb, brothers Jesse H. Holcomb Jr. and William H. Holcomb, sister Mary Fordtran and son Larry Silk.
Survivors include her daughters Penny Boyd and husband Doug of Jacksonville and Sandy Basile and husband Mark of Houston; sons Allan Porter and wife Leta of Fairview and Ron Silk and wife Cindy of Plano; sister Evelyn D. Taylor of Jacksonville; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Doug Boyd, Dusty Porter, Bill Holcomb, John Taylor, Bryan Sigler, Michael Sigler, Bill Fordtran, and P. J. Kratohvil.
Honorary pallbearers will be Choir Members and Alpha Omega Sunday School Class at First United Methodist Church, Jacksonville.
Visitation with the family will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Fri., Nov. 2, . at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
