JACKSONVILLE —
Funeral services for Ona Arnwine Jenkins, age 98, of Jacksonville, are scheduled for 3 p.m. Sun., Oct. 28, . at Autry Funeral Home chapel, Jacksonville, with Rev. Joel McMahon officiating.
Burial will be held at Jarratt Cemetery, Jacksonville.
Mrs. Jenkins passed away Fri., Oct. 26, 2012 in Rusk.
She was born April 17, 1914 in Maydelle to James and Martha Arnwine.
Mrs. Jenkins was a member of First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, and taught school 45 years in the area and retired in 1978. She also played basketball in high school at Rusk and also at Jacksonville College. She received her degree at Stephen F. Austin State University. She met and married Mr. Clarence Jenkins of Turney and they later resided in Jacksonville.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Clarence Jenkins, brothers W.D. Arnwine, D.L. Arnwine, J.H. Arnwine, and Ernest “Son” Arnwine, and sisters Nan Arnwine and Frances Buckner.
Survivors include her sister Jimye Arnwine Pipes of Rusk; several nieces and nephews, including Bobye Adamson, B.R. and Joe Werner, Jerry and Dina Pipes, and Steven and Annette Pipes.
Pallbearers will be nephews and great nephews.
Visitation with the family will be from 2 p.m. until service time Sun., Oct. 28, . at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
