RUSK —
Funeral services for Bertie D. Bobbitt, age 75, of Rusk are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 20, 2012 in Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Copeland officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Rusk.
Mrs. Bobbitt died June 18, 2012 in a Rusk Nursing Home. She was born July 23, 1936 in Rusk to the late Carl B. and Ivy Watson Beard. Mrs. Bobbitt was a resident of Rusk for several years formerly of Houston. She loved to fish, loved to play bingo and was a Baptist.
Preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bobbitt, two sons, Mikey Bobbitt and Ricky Bobbitt, daughter, Terry Lynn Hebert, two brothers, William Howard Beard, Dewey Alvin Beard, two sisters, Fannie Mae Forman, Bernice Acker. Survivors include a granddaughter, Michelle Whitener of Fredericksburg, TX, great granddaughter, Cheyenne Lynn Hebert of Bellville, TX, great granddaughter, Calyn Ivy Whitener of Fredericksburg, two sisters, Mary Langston of Rusk, Dorothy Helm of Houston, TX, numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will include Chris Ponder, Jason Wiggins, Chris Ford, Tommy Ford, Timmy Joe Langston and John Frank Watson. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at the funeral home.
