JACKSONVILLE —
Ruth Taylor Odom passed away Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at Christian Care Nursing Center in Dallas.
She was born in Jacksonville on May 2, 1929.
Visitation will be on Thursday, Sept. 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Boren Connor Funeral Home. 750 S. Jackson St., Jacksonville.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, Sept. 21 at 2 p.m. at City Cemetery with Pastor Kent Barnard officiating.
Mrs. Odom was a member of Casa Linda Methodist Church in Dallas and a longtime employee of several insurance companies.
Mrs. Odom was preceded in death by her parents, Luker and Velma Taylor; her husband, Edwin Odom; one brother, Donald Taylor and two brothers-in-law, Russell Ward and Mickey Pfaff.
She is survived by her two sons, Eddie Odom and David Odom of Dallas; sister Wanda Ward of Jacksonville; sister Rose Pfaff of Kerrville; sister Shirley Hartsfield and her husband, Dale, of Tyler; sister Sue Ripple and her husband, William, of Sealy; a brother, Glen Taylor and his wife, Janice, of Jacksonville; and another brother, Kenneth Taylor and his wife, Winnie, of Liberty and many nieces and nephews.
