JACKSONVILLE —
Ann Sawyer Coorpender, 64, of Kingwood, Texas, passed away on August, 19th. Ann was born in Pittsburg, Texas and grew up in Jacksonville, Texas. After graduating from Jacksonville High School, she attended and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. Ann lived in Shreveport, Louisiana for many years prior to moving to the Houston area where she was an elementary school teacher until her recent illness.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, the late Neil and Betty Sawyer, and also by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Sawyer and Mr. and Mrs. Bishop Welcome Warrick.
She is survived by her son, Christian Neil Shank (Shelly) and grandsons Weston and Sawyer Shank of Kingwood, Texas, sisters Bettie Vaughn (John) of Little Rock, Arkansas, Paula Buckley (Jimmy) of Natchitoches, Louisiana and several nieces and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM, on September 15th, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral in Shreveport. Louisiana.
