JACKSONVILLE —
Funeral services for Josh Long, age 33, of Jacksonville, are scheduled for Wednesday April 18, 2012, at 3:00 pm in the Autry Funeral Home Chapel, Jacksonville, with Rev. David Moore, Rev. David Goodwin, and Rev. Dale Jamerson officiating.
Burial will be held at Antioch Cemetery.
Mr. Long passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012 in Jacksonville.
He was born October 3, 1978 in Rusk, TX to Robert Vernon Long, Jr. and Martha Marie Smith Long.
Mr. Long was a foreman for Morris Drywall Construction and was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Jacksonville where he was active as a youth leader. Josh loved baseball, especially the Astros, his family, and his work.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Red and Bonnie Smith and grandfather Robert Vernon Long, Sr.
Survivors include wife of 12 years, Jennifer Jamerson Long of Jacksonville; daughters, Cynthia Dayle Long and Chloe Elizabeth Long of Jacksonville; son, Joshua Lee Long, Jr. of Jacksonville; brother, Chris Long of Dialville; sister, Joyce Smith of Rusk; parents, Robert and Martha Long of Rusk; grandparents, Joyce and Guy Davis of Warren, TX; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dale and Luisa Jamerson of Jacksonville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Kari Jamerson of Kentucky; sister-in-law, Jessica Jamerson of Jacksonville; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Casey Meyers of Midland; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Steven Roper, Dustin Hill, Matt McCune, John Huddleston, James Jamerson Chris Long, Kendric Chambers, and Jeff Smith.
Honorary pallbearers are Colby Jamerson, Cody Rodriguez, Caitlin Rodriguez, Brandon Smith, Chase Jamerson, Caleb Rodriguez and Keara O’Neal.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 17, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
A memorial fund has been set up at Prosperity Bank under the name of Jennifer Long.
