Texas A&M raises fees, tuition at some campuses

COLLEGE STATION — Texas A&M University regents have raised some student fees and tuition at a few campuses.

The A&M System Board of Regents voted 6-3 to raise fees in four areas and tuition at some of the university system's campuses. Tuition at the university's main campus will remain flat next year, though still higher than at other campuses.

The vote was unusual because the board of regents general has unanimous decisions.

The Eagle reports total academic fees will increase by about 1 percent with the rising rates for computer access, library, student recreation center and university writing. The new fees will generate another $4 million annually.
