RUSK —
The City of Rusk has issued a boil water notice for some customers after a water main break occurred Thursday morning.
City officials were not sure how long the boil-water notice would be in effect.
The notice affects customers from 4100 FM 343 to FM 2972, including Hilltop Drive and Summerbreeze. The notice also includes customers on FM 2972 to Highway 69 including Black Lane and Tiffany Street and Highway 69 North from FM 2972.
To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking and making ice should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. Or use bottled water purchased from a reputable source.
City of Rusk officials will notify customers that the water is safe for consumption.
For more information, contact Thomas Thompson, public works director, at 903-683-2321 or City Hall at 903-683-2213.
