Police seek burglary suspects

JACKSONVILLE — The Jacksonville Police Department is asking the public for help in identifying two suspects involved in a local store burglary.

Around midnight on May 12, an employee leaving A&M Food Mart, 755 N. Bolton, allegedly saw suspicious bystanders around the store, Detective Greg Compton said.

An officer called to the scene saw individuals on the north side of the store, one allegedly with a handgun.

“The suspects began running west of the store in which Officer Barry pursued them,” Compton said. “TDC (Texas Department of Corrections) were called and the dogs were able to trace them until they lost (the suspect's) scent.”

After reviewing surveillance video, the suspects allegedly involved in the burglary had been in the store earlier that day in the same clothing.

The two suspects are facing burglary of a building charges, a state jail felony. They will face a minimum of 180 days to a maximum of two years in state jail, and/or a $10,000 fine if convicted.

If anybody have any leads or recognize the suspects, Compton said he can be reached at the Police Department, 903-586-2546.
