Mary Carpenter, a 35-year-old Jacksonville woman, was arrested Saturday on a shoplifting charge, said Jacksonville Police Department Detective Sgt. Daniel Franklin.
He said she was arrested and charged with public intoxication and shoplifting.
“Management at Brookshire Brothers observed a white female sticking stuff in her purse,” Franklin said.
He also said once confronted, authorities allegedly found about $10 worth of nail polish remover and hair clips.
The alleged incident took place at about noon.
