Local government agencies and other services have announced closures for the New Year’s Day holiday.
Jacksonville:
• City Hall and the Chamber of Commerce will be closed Friday
• There will be no garbage collection Friday.
Rusk:
• City Hall will be closed Friday and there will be no garbage collection that day.
• Chamber of Commerce closed Wednesday at noon and will remain closed through Thursday and Friday.
Bullard:
• City hall and chamber of commerce close Friday.
• Garbage collection will be unaffected.
County and other services:
• County courthouse offices will close Friday. Post offices and banks will also close Friday.
Schools:
• All area schools will resume classes on Monday, Jan. 4.
Newspaper:
Daily Progress offices will close at noon today and remain closed Friday. There will be no Friday, Jan. 1 edition of the Daily Progress. Offices will reopen for regular hours on Monday.
