Several area churches are holding Christmas services this week.
Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church will continue its celebration of Posadas at 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday nights. Posadas is a traditional Mexican journey with Mary and St. Joseph as they look for lodging. The event began on Dec. 16 and continued each night beginning at 7 p.m. and ending up at homes in the parish.
OLOS will offer confessions from 4 to 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, and 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday.
OLOS will have a family Mass at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, with a procession of children with a Nativity scene, at the church. Mass will be celebrated in Spanish at 9 p.m. Christmas carols by candlelight will be sung at 11 p.m. Midnight Mass will include a candlelight procession and sung Christmas proclamation.
Christmas Day Masses at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church will be at 9 a.m. in English, and 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. in Spanish.
Central Baptist Church to hold Christmas Eve service
Central Baptist Church will celebrate Christmas Eve with a service at 6 p.m. Thursday at the church, 1909 Rusk St.
FUMC Rusk to hold communion service
First United Methodist Church in Rusk will hold a candlelight communion service at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the church, 308 N. Henderson St. in Rusk. For more information, call 903-683-4675.

First Presbyterian Church in Rusk will hold a candlelight communion service at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the church, 312 N. Main St. For information, call 903-683-4602.
St. John’s UMC holds Christmas Eve service
St. John’s UMC, 2020 Beaumont St. in Jacksonville, will hold a Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. Thursday. There will be a time of candle light, carols and communion. The community is invited to join in the worship.
Dialville UMC to hold candlelight communion service
Dialville United Methodist Church will hold a candlelight communion service at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the church in downtown Dialville. Pastor Raymond Ross Vermillion will celebrate the service. Everyone is invited.
