County to vote on truck purchases

RUSK — Cherokee County Commissioners Court will vote Monday on bids for pickup trucks for one or more precincts. The vote will occur during the regular court meeting at 10 a.m. in the county courtroom.

Bids for new and used pickups that were opened Nov. 18 will be examined. A vote to accept one or more bids could take place.

Other items to be decided by the court are:

• approval for Precinct 2 Commissioner Kevin Pierce to assist Wells Independent School District on a bus turnaround on County Road 2825;

• a request to obtain TEAM Compatibility Grant funding for the county tax assessor;

• appointment of a person to administer the sick leave pool; and

• a contract renewal between Cherokee County and County Information Resources Agency for maintaining county Web site and e-mails.

The county courtroom is in the Cherokee County Courthouse on the square in Rusk. The meetings are open to the public.
