Pinotti case goes to DA

RUSK — The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department reported the investigation into whether Precinct 3 Commissioner Katherine Pinotti misused county funds to conduct road work on Patterson Lane was closed Friday afternoon.

Captain John Raffield said the case will be in District Attorney Elmer Beckworth’s hands by Monday.

In addition, Raffield said the investigation of Heidi Tyler, a clerk for the office of the Cherokee County Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace, is still underway.

“There have been no updates,” Raffield said Friday.

Tyler is accused of stealing an unspecified amount of money from the county and is now placed on administrative leave.
