Free fingerprinting for kids Saturday

JACKSONVILLE — A free children’s finger printing event will be held Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

It will take place at the new Dollar Tree location off of South Jackson Street.

Jacksonville Police Department Crime Prevention Officer Tonya Harris said this is being held to enable more safety for area children up to 16 years of age who are invited to attend.

She added there will be treats for the children such as coloring books.

“It’s going to be a back to school safety thing,” Harris said.
