Registration underway

BOSSIER CITY, La. — Registration is underway for the Jan. 26 “Keep Safety First” Child Care Conference sponsored by the District 5 Pineywoods at First Baptist Church in Jacksonville.

The conference, at 211 Phillip St., opens with registration from 7:45 a.m., followed by an 8:45 a.m. presentation on “SIDS/SBS & EBD” by Sheila Matson, ECI Director of the Andrews Center.

Other presentations will touch on “Congenital CMV,” “Parents & Child Provider Relationships,” and “Child Passenger Safety.” Concurrent sessions are scheduled for the afternoon on the topics of Keeping Children Safe and Secure, Positive Discipline, Going Bananas for Nutrition and Brain Gym.

The event also features are educational exhibits, brunch and door prizes.

Cost is $35 (non-refundable) per participant; after Jan. 18, the fee rises to $50.
