Lessons for beginning sewers – as well as those who are interested in learning new approaches to sewing – kick off Monday at the Jacksonville Public Library.
Local resident and former 4-H teacher Donna Frasier Williams will teach the class Mondays and Thursdays from 6-8 p.m through Feb. 18.
Students will bring their machines to all classes except the first one, she said.
The focus will be on learning to read patterns and measuring for size, with a goal of sewing a simple dress.
Dates include: January 14, 17, 24,31. February 4, 7, 11, 18. Class size will be limited and is open to individuals 18 and older.
