JACKSONVILLE — An area woman was sent to the hospital Friday following an accident on South Jackson. It happened at about 10:50 a.m. and one of the three vehicles involved required towing.
According to the police report, a red 2004 GMC Yukon driven by Donald Lee, 68, of Jacksonville, was traveling northbound on Jackson when it attempted to turn into a private parking lot. A blue 1987 Chrysler New Yorker driven by John Rutledge, 58, of Frankston, was traveling south on Jackson when it struck the first vehicle on the right rear quarter.
Officers state the Yukon spun and struck a blue 1987 Toyota Tacoma driven by Nicholas Rice, 27, of Jacksonville, as the Tacoma attempted to exit the lot. Its front left was hit by the Yukon’s left rear quarter.
A passenger in the New Yorker, 81-year-old Opal Jarrell, was taken to Trinity Mother Frances - Jacksonville with non-threatening injuries.
Williams was cited for failure to yield right of way while turning left and failure to show proof of financial responsibility.
