JACKSONVILLE — Failure to yield right-of-way was the cause of a wreck on U. S. Highway 69 south of Jacksonville Tuesday afternoon, Jacksonville police officers said. It happened around 3 p.m.

Three children and one adult were transported from the scene by ambulance following the wreck.

According to police records, Brenda Beck, 54, of Jacksonville, was driving out of Glenda Dement Boulevard onto U.S. Hwy. 69.

Police officers said she pulled out in her black 2009 GMC Acadia and struck a green 2001 Ford Escape head-on.

The impact damaged the front left side while the Escape suffered more extensive damage on the front right side.

Three children were taken by ambulance to Trinity Mother Frances-Jacksonville, as well as one adult.

Beck was cited for failure to yield right-of-way. She did not have any other occupants in her vehicle.

The names and conditions of the children and driver in the Escape were not released Tuesday afternoon.
