The Alto ISD Board of Trustees will hold their regular meeting next week at 6:30 p.m.
Along with regular business, such as administrative reports and ìpositives by school board members,î the board will move to closed session to discuss personnel and employment issues.
According to the Alto ISD agenda, the closed session is ìdiscussion to determine the employment areas to be affected by a reduction in force of current employees and ìdiscussion regarding personnel being considered for non-renewal of contracts.
The district is facing budget cuts from the state, according to a previous interview with Alto ISD Superintendent Dr. Roy DeSpain.
DeSpain said between $515,000 and $675,000 needed to be cut from the district's personnel budget to cope with the deficit.
Alto ISD officials did not return phone calls for more information before press time.
In an earlier interview, DeSpain said officials hoped to have decisions on where the ax would fall made within four to six weeks from the February meeting.
During the meeting, officials plan ìdiscussion/ action to approve ratification ofî the resignation of Delana Mason, a kindergarten teacher at Alto's elementary school, according to altoesc7.net, the district's website.
The Alto ISD Board of Trustees meets the fourth Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Alto ISD Board Room, located at 244 C.R. 2429 in Alto.
