17-year-old arrested for sex assault of 14-year-old

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department arrested a 17-year-old man Friday for allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old girl. Adam L. Cameron was taken into custody and charged with the aggravated sexual assault of a child.

CCSD Chief Investigator Chris White said that because the case is still an ongoing investigation, few details are available. Detective Gina Battley worked the case, but was unavailable for comment Wednesday.

Cameron’s bond was set at $50,000. Aggravated sexual assault of a child is a first-degree felony.

The following arrests were made by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department and the Department of Public Safety for the period of May 6 through May 12.

• Willi Aguillar, public intoxication. A fine was set at $250.

• Earnest L. Baker, possession of marijuana. Bond was set at $750.

• Michael D. Boseman, assault causing bodily injury. Bond was set at $1,500.

• Ronnie L. Bynum, public intoxication. A fine was set at $215.

• Kenneth W. Calhoun, theft of service. Bond was set at $2,500.

• Adam L. Cameron, aggravated sexual assault of a child. Bond was set at $50,000.

• Fredrick L. Fuller, release of surety for manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, release of surety for evading arrest and release of surety for possession of marijuana. Bonds were set at $250,000, $3,000 and $3,000.

• Jo L. Harrison, theft by check. Bond was set at $500.

• Sidney V. Hawkins, theft by check (Henderson County warrant). Bond was set at $200.

• Manuel Hernandez, fraudulent use of identifying information and two traffic citations. Bonds were set at $3,500, $170 and $170.

• Jeniqua S. Holman, theft of property. Bond was set at $1,500.

• Cary L. Jones, evading arrest and reckless driving. Bonds were set at $4,000 and $750.

• Corry D. Lofton, theft of service. Bond was set at $500.

• Kenneth R. Menchy Jr., possession of marijuana. Bond was set at $750.

• James N. Moss, theft of service. Bond was set at $500.

• Candace M. Park, reckless damage. A fine was set at $300.

• David A. Pate, contempt of court (Atascosa County warrant). Bond was set at $5,000.

• Joshua R. Sipes, misdemeanor assault. A fine was set at $200.

• Lance T. Wallace, manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance and evading arrest. Bonds were set at $20,000 and $3,500.

• Reginald J. Williams, driving while intoxicated, possession of drug paraphernalia, expired inspection, no insurance, expired driver’s license and failure to change address on driver’s license. Bonds were set at $1,500, $135, $135, $270, $165 and $135.
