JACKSONVILLE —
The city of Jacksonville will propose a joint project to the Jacksonville school board at 6:30 p.m. on Monday to improve Pineda Street, where the new Joe Wright Elementary school is being constructed.
The school board will also discuss increasing meal prices for the 2012-2013 school year. If the motion is passed, Jacksonville ISD will be the third school to increase meal prices behind Troup and Rusk ISD.
The school board will discuss the 2012-2013 budget planning calendar.
Bullard ISD
Bullard ISD board of trustees will consider its teacher salary schedule and salary recommendations for the 2012-2013 school year at its meeting monday at 6 p.m. in the school's administration building.
The board will also hear reports on the status of delinquent tax collections and the progress of the 2012-2013 budget. A budget workshop is expected to be set in July.
Board members will also discuss the purchase of a new school bus.
Rusk ISD
Rusk ISD trustees consider employment of a new superintendent at a specially called meeting Wednesday at noon in the school's administration.
Scott Davis, superintendent of Lamesa ISD, was named the lone finalist for the vacant position on May 30. State law requires school districts to have a 21-day waiting period after naming a lone finalist before a contract can be signed.
School officials expect Davis' first day to be July 1.
Alto ISD
The Alto school board will ratify the ersignation of school board member Randy Low and appoint the new school board member at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
The school board will also taken possible action on the resident, grandparent and substantial care board policy.
Alto City Council
The Alto City Council will appoint the new council members as well the new mayor at 6 p.m. on Monday.
The council will also possibly approve a new policy and procedure manual for the police department.
