Early voting for the March 2 primary election begins Feb. 16 and will last through Feb. 26.
Early voting polls will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
Polls will be located at the Jacksonville Senior Citizens Center, 302 S. Bolton St. (across from Discount City); the Cherokee County Courthouse, 135 S. Main, Rusk; and at the A. Frank Smith Methodist Church, 103 Cooper St., in Alto.
Applications for a ballot by mail are due Feb. 23. Applications to vote by mail may be delivered by regular mail, common or contract carrier, or fax.
Voters are only eligible to vote by mail if they are going to be out of the county on election day (March 2) and during early voting; disabled; 65 or older; or are confined in jail but still eligible to vote.
