RUSK — Progress staff reports
RUSK — Cherokee County commissioners will discus whether to post a 25 mph speed limit on CR 4217 at their 10 a.m. regular meeting Monday at the Cherokee County Courthouse in Rusk.
If the commissioners decide to post the limit, they will set a public hearing about the change in speed limit at their next regular meeting at 10 a.m. Feb 22.
The commissioners will also hear and consider approving the sheriff department’s monthly report for January.
Robin Parsons might be approved by the commissioners to be a reserve deputy for the sheriff’s department as well.
The commissioners will decide whether to sell an above-ground fuel storage tank at the airport and whether to purchase timber from David Cooper for the airport runway height clearance.
The Jacksonville tax office at 301 W. Commerce St. might also get a new roof. The commissioners will decide that Monday.
The Cherokee County Commissioner’s Court meets at 10 a.m. the second and fourth Monday of each month in the county courtroom in the courthouse in Rusk. The meetings are open to the public.
