JACKSONVILLE —
The City of Jacksonville will continue implementing its summer mosquito spraying program next week by spraying areas 5, 8 and 10. These areas include the following streets:
Area 5, Myrtle- Bainbridge, Beacon, Brady, Burma, Carolina, Cherokee Trail, Cordella, Fireleaf, Garner, Glass, Highland Avenue, Hillside, Kesler, Lake, Landress, Lawler, Magness, McArthur, Melrose, Model, Myrtle Drive, Nance, Newton, Oakland, Phillip, Pierce, Plantation, Sam Boles Road and Wilson.
Area 8, Lincoln Park- Arnold, Balas, Benson, Border, Burma, Churchill, Clemons, Columbia, Davis, Debusk, Ellis, Esther, Forest, Fry, Gaston, Grant, Greely, H.V. Jones, Holloway, Jeff Davis, Jones, Lincoln, Looney, Loper, M.B. Davis, Marvin, McDonald, MLK, Moore, Patrolman Lee, Pierce, Rosalee, Sheridan, Sherman, Sims, Skyline and Wilkins.
Area 10, East Side- Alameda, Austin, Avalon, Beaumont, Briar Cove, Brookhollow, Brookside, Buckner, Canada, Circle, Dallas, Edgewood, El Paso, Elm, Fort Worth, Fulton, Hillcrest, James, John, Nacogdoches, Neches, Newburn, O’Keefe, San Antonio, San Marcus, San Saba, South, Waco, Wesley, Willowcreek, Woodcreek and Wynn.
The spraying will take place just prior to dusk. City officials remind residents to keep pets and children indoors during times of expected spraying. Likewise, adults should also limit their exposure to airborne mosquito spray as much as possible.
Factors such as rain, evening temperatures below 55 degrees F, and winds over 10 miles an hour will prohibit the City from spraying during some evenings.
