The Cherokee Civic Theatre in Rusk announces that the cast has been selected for their upcoming Fall Musical, “Willy Wonka”.
The play captures Roald Dahl’s timeless story of the world-famous Candy Man, and his quest to find an heir.
Dan “Eddie” Breen will play Willy Wonka.
Charlie Bucket will be acted by Jake Lagrone.
As Charlie’s family, Dan Trent will portray Grandpa Joe; Mr. Bucket will be acted by Stephan Bogan, Mrs. Bucket by Haley Hanks; Jessica Marquez has been selected to play Grandma Josephine; Michael Young will play Grandpa George; Annette Young will be Grandma Georgina;
Charlie’s fellow Golden Ticket winners will be Cole Moore has been selected to portray Augustus Gloop; Michael Trae Gunter will play the part of Mike Teavee, Ashlen Richards will be Veruca Salt; and Jamie Becker/Zoe Ruben will play Violet Beauregard.
In the roles of the children’s parents, Amy McCalister will be Mrs. Gloop; while Mrs. Teavee will be portrayed by Leah Hanks; Mr. Salt will be acted by Tony Williams; Debra Petri will be Mrs. Beauregard.
The Oompa Loompas will be played by Emily Marquez, Sarah Crysup, Raelee Walker, Madeline Gilmore and Taylor Collins.
The Candyman will be acted by Michael Moore.
Phineous Trout will be played by Michael Tapia.
Playing the “kids” will be Ryan Petri, Rachel Marquez, Moira Debbs, Jake Potter and Donovan Trent.
The Chorus of Cooks/Company Singers will be: Marisa Gilmore, Serena Perez, Sommer May, Haley Gilmore, Lindsay Johnson, Brenna Leone and Taylor Moore.
Squirrels will be Abigail McCalister, Timothy Bogan, Dane Trent, Addie Emerson, Karrlie Emerson, Victoria Ivy, Jaci Hood, Karsyn Cunningham, Sage Elledge, Jocelyn Herring and Kylaney Breen.
This stage adaptation of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, which features the songs from the classic family film “Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory”, is slated for Oct. 1, 2, 3, 8 and 9, at the historic Cherokee Civic Theatre, 157 W. 5th Street in Rusk.
