Douglas, Wheeler marry

Christy Marie Douglas and Robert Allen Wheeler were united in holy matrimony at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at Grace Manor in Rusk.

The Honorable Judge Chris Davis officiated the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mike and Cindy Douglas of Jacksonville. She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.

The groom is the son of Gary and Karen Wheeler of Mineral Wells. He is a graduate of Palestine High School.

The wedding ceremony featured a peacock theme. The cake had three tiers decorated in blue, white and green and was topped with two doves bearing rings in their beaks. Cake designer was the Daily Grind in Rusk.

The bride wore a white strapless, beaded mermaid-style gown with an angel-cut veil from Elaine’s in Jacksonville. The bridal bouquet was customized by Cindy’s House of Treasures in Ponta.

Matron-of-honor was Misty Tutor, sister of the bride. Best man was Michael Schattel, friend of the groom.

A reception for the couple was held immediately following the wedding at Elmwood Gardens in Palestine.

The couple resides in Jacksonville.
