Ware, Sittinger to wed

Harold Jr. and Tammy Ware of Pine Prarie, La., are happy to announce the engagement and pending wedding of their daughter, Ashly Nicole Ware, to David Owen Sittinger, son of James Sittinger of Pottsboro and Plez Bramlett of Austin.

The wedding ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 7, at Castle on the Lake in Jacksonville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Wanda Marcantel and the late Gladys Ware. She graudated from Pine Praire High School, and is currently employed with Bed Bath and Beyond.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Betty Sittinger. He graduated from Allen High School, and is employed with East Texas Casino Parties.

  • The Book Shelf: Tina Fey’s ‘Bossypants’ has few taboos, but enjoyable

    You will sometimes see a block-buster movie that has the starís name above the title on the marquee.  We are introduced to the concept in literary form in this abbreviated autobiography of Tina Fey.  Iím not the title.  Probably a good idea, as one would have to be intimately acquainted with Ms. Fey to know her nickname is “Bossypants.”

    Mildred Roberts, 86, of Jacksonville was sitting in her bed Monday Dec. 5, when she heard sirens and the beeping of a smoke detector. Before she could put two and two together, she said firefighters came into her room, filling it with smoke.
