Go Bearcats!

JACKSONVILLE — GO BEARCATS ! ! ! ! What is it with the negative headline campaign against Lon Morris? This is not a bankrupt, print more money, U.S. government organization. This is a school that has experienced exponential growth in a weak economy. There will be bumps in the road with that growth, as most organizations go through. This is a school that is pumping more money into the local economy every time a student enrolls. Lon Morris has created jobs, sales tax revenue, and new construction, not to mention community pride with a reinstated football team. Those football (as well as basketball, baseball, etc.) games bring in out-of-towners to our hotels, gas stations and restaurants. Now I am not a Methodist , nor do I have any affiliation with Lon Morris other than driving by the school every day. My special interest is in the forward growth of Jacksonville. Lon Morris is an old proud institution that plays a role in that growth. Lon Morris will survive despite the negative press and Jacksonville would be better served if the community would vocally stand with them because Jacksonville needs Lon Morris.
