Progress Jacksonville, a special purpose political action committee, has begun passing around petitions to all Jacksonville residents for both the legal sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption and the legal sale of mixed beverages in restaurants by food and beverage certificate holders only. The group aims to collect 1,000 or more signatures within 60 days. Both petitions are available to sign at Brookshire Brothers and Wal-Mart.
