A communitywide disaster drill will take place in Jacksonville on Tuesday, according to Christine Rutherford, East Texas Medical Center affiliate marketing manager.
The drill will simulate a chemical spill and traffic accident involving mass casualties for both hospitals in town, she said. Jacksonville community agencies participating are the Jacksonville Fire Department, Jacksonville Police Department, Jacksonville EMS, ETMC Jacksonville and Trinity Mother Frances-Jacksonville.
Rutherford emphasizes to the public that this is just a drill.
