JACKSONVILLE —
Steven Norton took the Republican nomination for the Cherokee County Pct. 2 commissioner's seat Tuesday night in a run off election.
Norton defeated incumbent Kevin Pierce, taking 556 votes, compared to Pierce's 523.
Because no one filed for the Democratic nomination for the seat, Norton automatically wins the seat and will be sworn in in January.
