New Summerfield Class of 2009 is 38 students strong

New Summerfield High School valedictorian Julie Suarez addresses her classmates during graduation ceremonies Friday night. The Class of 2009 included 38 students. A Tyler Junior College representative presented nine Top 10 Percent Scholarships totaling $36,000. Each student was awarded $4,000 each. NSISD superintendent Greg Weiss congratulated the class of 2009, and said, “After today, it will be up to you to decide what you do with your life.” Progress photo by Kelsey Palmer
