Nearly 400 food baskets created through the inaugural People Helping People program were distributed Saturday morning to provide those in need with meals through the holiday. The project kicked off Oct. 25, and raised $11,397 by a Dec. 20 deadline. A total of 87 businesses, churches and organizations took part, as did different entities that provided items to include in the food baskets. Progress photos by Cynthia Mallard
